Harambee Performances

The Bomas Harambee Dancers resident dance troupe was founded in 1973 and named in honor of the First President’s call for unity and cooperation in building the Kenyan Nation. Four decades later, the troupe is still active and its mission to preserve music and dance traditions of various ethnic communities of Kenya and to showcase them at the international arena still remains relevant. Apart from regular daily performances at the Bomas centre (Lang’ata Rd, Nairobi), Bomas Harambee Dancers frequently perform in both cultural and cooperate events, takes part in national celebrations and maintain the roots of cultural tourism development in the tourism industry. The troupe has thus travelled and performed all over the world at various forums, proudly representing Kenya as its national dance company.

Bomas Harambee Dancers perform at both corporate and private events in Nairobi and outside the metropolitan area. Our mission to display the best of Kenyan cultural music and dance translates here into dynamic and spectacular stage performance cutting across regions and communities.

Our stage shows are developed in consultation with the client in order to correspond to his/her needs and to the specific demands of event venues and audiences. We also offer acrobatic shows and dances from various part of Africa, in celebration of our unity in diversity.
