Our History
Bomas of Kenya is a premier cultural and tourism destination established in 1971 to preserve and promote Kenya’s diverse heritage. Located in Nairobi, it offers authentic cultural experiences through traditional homesteads, music, and dance performances, making it one of the country’s most iconic attractions for both local and international visitors.
Over the years, Bomas has evolved into a multifunctional venue, hosting conferences, exhibitions, and major national events, while contributing significantly to Kenya’s tourism and hospitality sectors.
As part of its ongoing transformation, Bomas of Kenya is developing the Bomas International Convention Complex (BICC), a state-of-the-art facility designed to position Nairobi as a leading global hub for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). This development reflects a strategic commitment to innovation, sustainability, and world-class service delivery.
Today, Bomas of Kenya continues to blend cultural heritage with modern infrastructure, reinforcing its role as a key driver of tourism and a gateway to Kenya’s rich cultural identity.
